3 Must Read Books That Will Change Your Life Completely

15:55

A few weeks back one of my friends asked me for a list of books that I feel everyone absolutely must read once in their lifetime. This query intrigued me and as it turns out after going through a lot of different fantastic books, I finally settled on 3 non-fiction books that had changed my life completely in various aspects of life. And, I feel that these books have the ability to change the way you think and feel too.

Successful people read. Successful people listen. They never stop learning. If you’re not learning, growing and evolving who you were yesterday who you will be tomorrow is going to be no better. If you’re not growing, you are falling behind.

If you want to grow, you must start injecting your mind with new information… always looking for a new spark.

How I rediscovered books in the digital age?

Book is the documented form of the knowledge of the guru. It’s a living master in a book form.

I feel somewhere along the line, like early teenage years, I stopped reading books after getting my smartphones from an early age. Suddenly a lot of other things started to capture my attention, like better things to do.

I went years without reading anything, reading only what is required to read in school and college. Last year, though, I rediscovered books, and now I find them as my best friends and mentors to absorb new information.

Books are incredible in the sense that they are usually a lifetime of work and energy, and knowledge, condensed into a few hundred pages. The author is imparting in you a piece of their lives, of what they know, their years of experience, and their imagination.

Mainly at this stage of my life, I’m consuming books on self-help, psychology and spirituality. Learning new things from books helped me in loneliness. It has always guided me whenever I’ve felt no sense of direction.

Enough talking, here are 3 books I recommend that’ll help you rise to a new level in your life in every aspect be it physically, socially, spiritually, or financially.

#1: How to Win Friends and Influence People

Blurb
How to Win Friends and Influence People written by Dale Carnegie gives you time-tested advice and simple techniques on how to deal with people, understand them and get along with them. It tells you how to improve your conversational skills in order to become an effective communicator, how to avoid arguments and win people over, how to make friends easily, and most importantly, how to become the best version of yourself.

A phenomenal success globally, this book will change the way you approach relationships and better equip you to handle the little curves that life throws at you.

Its first rule is like a paradigm shift that you can apply to your entire philosophy when it comes to dealing with people.

Why This Book?
If you want to enhance your relationships with others personally and in business, if you want to understand how to genuinely create and maintain positive relationships and respect with anyone, if you want to understand how to create a winner’s circle… this book is for you.

In 2011, Time magazine ranked this book as 19th most influential book in American history. This book is often referred to as the Bible of Human Communication.

The practical advice and rules given by Dale Carnegie will transform your life.

Core Message
If you want to win friends and influence people, be genuinely interested in others, give others frequent compliments and praise, give people the joy of talking about their interests and satisfy their craving for praise and appreciation and soon you’ll find yourself surrounded by friends who are eager to help you succeed. #2: Rich Dad Poor Dad

Blurb
Rich Dad Poor Dad is a starting point for anyone looking to gain control of their financial future. This book explodes the myth that you need to earn a high income in order to become rich – especially in a society where technology and the global economy are changing the rules.

It teaches the difference between an asset and a liability and why acquiring assets and building assets can be more important to your future than an income paycheck.

Rich Dad Poor Dad reminds us why we can’t depend on the college system to teach us about money – and why this important life skill is more important today than ever before.

Why This Book?
Nothing I’ve ever read has so greatly shifted my perspective on money. This book is by far the most influential book in my life and there is a pretty strong reason behind it. It completely changed my understanding of money and wealth.

This book isn’t going to tell you: “Look, do this and you will make a lot of money.” But it’s more about changing your mindset, your understanding of money, job, business, etc.

Like it or not, the moment you change your views about money you start seeing things differently because you’ll find a way to become financially free.

So you’ve to read this book, not once, but multiple times to understand properly because money is one of the most important things of our life. So if you’re serious about achieving financial freedom, this book is definitely for you.

Core Message
The main reason people struggle financially is that they have spent years in school but learned nothing about money. The result is that people learn to work for money… but never learn to have money work for them. This book teaches us the importance of financial literacy i.e. it’s not how much money you make its how much money you keep, and education and wisdom about money are important. That was the core message that I gathered from this #1 personal finance book of all time.

#3: The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari

Blurb
The Monk who sold his Ferrari is a how-to book. It’s an inspiring tale that provides a step-by-step approach to living with greater courage, balance, abundance, and joy. It’s a crafted fable that tells the extraordinary story of Julian Mantle, a top-notch American lawyer forced to confront the spiritual crisis of his out-of-balance life.

On a life-changing odyssey to an ancient culture, he discovers powerful, wise and practical lessons that teach us to develop joyful thoughts, follow our life’s mission and purpose, cultivate self-discipline and self-mastery, value time as our most important commodity, and nourish our relationships.

Why This Book?
Investing in yourself is the best investment you’ll ever make. It’ll not only improve your life, but it will also improve the lives of all those around you.

I’ve read a lot of self-help books but this book especially struck with me forever. It’s a very sequester kind of book either you’re going to love it or hate it.

This book teaches us the secrets of enriching the mind, cultivating the body and nourishing the soul. It states that in order to find happiness, we need to find out what we truly love to do and then direct all of our energy towards doing it.

This book will teach you to live happily with a purpose, and follow your heart’s call and live every moment. Hence, it’s a must-read for all those who want to achieve their purpose of life and learn to control their thoughts to become the master of their destiny.

Core Message
It’s a fable that teaches us to fulfil our dreams and reaching our destiny. It provides wisdom to create a life of purpose, passion, and peace. This tale incorporates the classic tools of transformation into a simple philosophy of living. That was the core message that I gathered from this book.
